Join us at Shoe Lane Library for two live lunchtime workshops:
12:00pm – 12:30pm: Laughter Therapy
We all enjoy a good laugh. Did you know that laughing can help relieve stress, release endorphins (our happy hormone) and lower cortisol (stress hormone)? Take a lunch break with Patricia Byrne who will lead the laughing in this energising session designed to lift your mood.
Registration is not essential everyone is welcome to join us on the day.
1:00pm – 2:00pm: Wire Sculpture
Bend and twist lengths of wire to construct small linear sculptures. Your artwork will look great displayed on a wall. With artist Reza Ben Gajra. No experience needed. Wire and plyers etc.. will be provided. We suggest you wear glasses or goggles if you have them.
Registration is not essential everyone is welcome to join us on the day.

What’s the opposite of looking on the bright side? Join us to discuss our fascination with post-apocalyptic imaginings of our world, using activities and readings to explore what makes dystopia so compelling. 6pm- 7pm- Yoga for Mental Health:
Gentle yoga focusing on easing tension from the body and relaxing the mind. The perfect way to wind down at the end of the day. With Marina from Balance Garden. Suitable for all levels of experience.
Looking ahead… Our next Dragon Café in the City on Wed 18 May will include a lunchtime drawing workshop with artist Vanessa Lawrence in person at Shoe Lane Library. Read & Relax and Yoga sessions will be via zoom.
