Wednesday 19th July

We look forward to welcoming you to our eclectic mix of in person and zoom sessions.

On Wednesday 19th July MFC also brings you the Dragon Café in the City project in collaboration with Shoe Lane Library and the City of London. Join us for a fantastic mix of events online and in person!

12:15pm (30 mins): Laughter Therapy

We all enjoy a good laugh. Did you know that laughing can help relieve stress, release endorphins (our happy hormone) and lower cortisol (stress hormone)? Take a break with Patricia Byrne who will lead the laughing in this energising session designed to lift the mood.

1pm (60 mins): Cyanotypes in the City

Join artist Vanessa Lawrence on the sunny side of the street as we create beautiful blue cyanotype sunshine prints.

Create cyanotype prints of natural forms and found objects and watch them develop, often with fascinating & surprising results.

Inspired by the work of 19th century botanical artist, and photographer Anna Atkins; the first person to illustrate a book with photographic images.  Materials provided. No experience needed.

2pm (60mins): Paint and Relax: Drop In!

Feeling inspired after the cyanotypes workshop? - stay on; or drop in for this relaxed, self-led painting session with watercolours.  Materials provided. No booking required.

6pm (45 mins): Qi Gong

Combining slow graceful movements with mental concentration, this ancient Chinese practise is said to help improve posture, strength, and respiratory function.

With Tony from Balance Garden. No experience needed and no need to have attended previous workshops. Wear loose comfortable clothes. Last of 5 series of workshops.
