🎈IT’S OUR 10TH BIRTHDAY!🎈
On Monday 24th October, we would like to invite you to a very special event to celebrate the 10th Birthday of The Dragon Café. The celebration will be held at Draper Hall in Elephant and Castle. We will be running a full programme of events during the day, and holding a special celebration in the evening with a performance by our wonderful patrons, a slideshow film showcasing their creativity, and cake!
We would like to take this opportunity to thank all of our Patrons without whom the past ten years of Dragon Café would not have been possible.
Timetable for Monday 24th October

12:00pm: Doors Open - Come and relax, catchup, chat, have a drink and a bite to eat.
12:30pm – 2pm: Poetry Workshop with Angie Smith. - Professor Angie Smith will be delivering a fun packed live poetry workshop dedicated to the art of blackout poetry. We will be using published materials such as newspapers and magazines along with liberal use of marker pens to craft our own poems.
Angie Smith is the Founder and Creative Director of CreativityUnleashed, a not-for-profit charity that publishes the voices of young people, a Professor of English at Russell Sage College in NY, USA and an online creative writing teacher.
2:30pm - 3:30pm: The Singing Group - The Dragon Café Singing group will be meeting for a live session. Come along and join in. Everyone is welcome.
4pm - 5pm:Danceworks - All are welcome to dance, bounce, shake, stretch and tone in the joyful and supportive company of fellow Dragons. No dance experience needed...musica maestro!!!
5pm: 10th Birthday Singing Group and Danceworks Collaboration Rehearsal.
6pm:10th Birthday Slideshow Film - Heartwarming highlights from a decade of abounding creativity by the ever talented, deeply inspiring patrons of the Dragon Café. Photos, film clips and songs all created at the Dragon Café.
6:20pm: 10th Birthday, a Song and Dance- A very special performance by patrons of our 10th Birthday Song and Dance. A Singing Group and Danceworks collaboration, it waswritten and choreographed especially for this event.
6:45pm: A Time to Celebrate! 🎉-Join us in raising a forkful of cake to another decade together.
End Time: 7:45pm
We are looking forward to celebrating with you all!
