12:15 (90mins) - Creative Writing with Lisa from Wordsmiths
Lisa brings with her the Wordsmiths ethos along with her own lived experience to facilitate truly engaging and non-judgmental Creative Writing groups.
The group setting allows each person to build confidence by sharing work they have created, and secondly to build empathy towards other people in their community by hearing their stories told in the words and voices of others.
2:15 (90mins) - The Creative Flow, a visual art session with Artist Samuel Mead
Artist and Creative Guide Samuel Mead presents: Enter the Flow State, a 90 minute experience where participants will be gently guided into a state of creative flow.
With a focus on the embodied sensory and emotional experience of mark making, communal creativity and the environment itself, this session is less about creating masterpieces and more about mastering our ability to enter the creative flow state whenever we choose.
Welcoming to all people of any ability, Enter the Flow State aims above all to help participants feel confident as creators, be inspired and have fun!
4pm (80mins): Songwriting with Ije Amaechi
Ije will be delivering a songwriting workshop that will focus on lyrics and melodies.
In reflection of the St Johns programming later in the week, participants will be reflecting “Overcoming Obstacles” and write a co-created song. No experience in music is necessary, just an openness to trying something new. You can bring an instrument if you’d like and your voice!
