Lee Hart

Lee has become a regular activity leader at the Dragon Café with his unique and playful approach to devised theatre work. The sessions have proved very popular with Dragon Café Patrons and are a welcoming space to explore the devised word and creative theatre practice. Together the devising theatre group are beginning to build a shared language and style of working which we very much plan on leading to a larger theatre project created by patrons of the Dragon Café.

These sessions are open to everybody. Don’t worry if this is your first time or you have attended previous sessions. Come along and get involved. You will be warmly welcomed.

Lee grew up in North Wales, moving to London in 1994 to study acting at Rose Bruford College where he was the winner of the Lawrence Olivier Award. Upon finishing his training he began to explore more physical styles of performance, working both nationally and internationally to explore movement direction and choreography. In 2008 Lee formed Salt Factory with playwright Nell Leyshon with the ambition of creating bold, ambitious performance, through the grass roots engagement of the community. This continues to drive his work. In 2019 he formed Voodoo Monkeys with visual/ spoken word artist Jason Brownlee, which is currently an associate theatre company at Theatre Royal Plymouth.

Lee also joined us on Monday 6th February 2023 for our special events day and screening of ‘Today I Killed My Very First Bird’
