On Wednesday, 22nd July, MFC brings you the Dragon Café in the City in collaboration with Shoe Lane Library and the City of London.
Summertime: Herbs. Poems. Felt…
1pm (60 mins): Felt Bowls
Make your own felt bowl using the ‘wet felting’ technique with dyed wool, soap and water to shape carded wool into small bowls. With farmer Sue Kimber, who spins, weaves and makes felt from her own sheep and goats’ wool. No experience needed.
In person at Shoe Lane Library.
2.30pm (90 mins): Relax & Create: Drop In
Stay on or drop by for this self-led sociable session with Drawing, Lego, Chess, Origami & Newspapers. Bring your own handcrafts e.g. knitting/crochet or your own board games.
In person at Shoe Lane Library. No booking needed.
3.30pm (60 mins): Poetry Stroll
Join poet Timothy Fox for a creative stroll. Be inspired by the local area to write your own poems and creative writing. For beginners and the more experienced. Paper and pens provided, or you may prefer to bring your own.
Start and finish at Shoe Lane Library.
5pm (60 mins): Herbal Tonics
Learn of the healing properties of herbs with a focus on plants at their seasonal best. Make your own herbal-infused vinegar with fresh herbs. Take as a daily tonic or use in cooking. With Nat from Hackney Herbal. Please bring a small clean jam jar with a lid.
