Resonance: Chanting Towards Calm
It’s more than just music; it’s a way to synchronize our rhythms, lower our heart rates, and lift our collective wellbeing. In a chaotic world, finding a moment of collective stillness is a radical act of self-care.
Whether you’re looking to quiet anxiety or simply want to feel a deeper sense of belonging, this workshop offers a space to breathe, connect, and find your centre- in the heart on London - one breath at a time.
We’ll explore the power of the human voice through a journey of sound:
A Gentle Beginning: We start with a physical warm-up to prepare the body.
The Power of "Om": Connecting with our breath and each other through a foundational chant.
Ancient Echoes: We will sing historic chants sourced from across London, as well as the ethereal works of Hildegard von Bingen.
Meet Your Facilitator: Leah Stuttard
Leah comes from an industrial town in a particularly wet part of the North West of England. She fell in love with medieval music listening to scratchy LPs of David Munrow that she bought from the library for £1.
The medieval harp has been her companion for 30 years and she’s been a singer all her life. Music has been a constant solace to her, and she believes that singing together with other people is not only a human birthright, but also a path to better self-knowledge and more contentment. She loves enabling people to enjoy this vital and creative activity.
