12:30pm (60 min) The Sound of the Character with Lee Hart– Part One
Lee will lead us through a creative process of embodying sounds and music as physical theatrical characters.
1:50pm (60min) The Sound of the Character with Lee Hart– Part Two
In the second half of this special Theatre making workshop, we will discover how these characters interact and move together.
Get to know Lee Hart
Lee grew up in North Wales, moving to London in 1994 to study acting at Rose Bruford College where he was the winner of the Lawrence Olivier Award. Upon finishing his training, he began to explore more physical styles of performance, working both nationally and internationally to explore movement direction and choreography. In 2008 Lee formed Salt Factory with playwright Nell Leyshon with the ambition of creating bold, ambitious performance, through the grass roots engagement of the community. This continues to drive his work. Lee Hart was the recipient of the Arts Foundation Theatre Maker Of The Year 2022.
3:20pm (30min) “Conversation Piece” with Rita Jones – An improvised choral piece led by participants
Loosely based around Paragraph 7 of Cornelius Cardew’s The Great Learning. The musical content is made by multiple voices harmonising (or not) and the sounds made by movement in the room.
4pm (60min) Singing Group with Vivien Ellis
This session will be an energy-filled journey through a mix of singing and vocal styles. There is something in this session for everyone.
