Monday 22nd September
We are looking forward to welcoming you to The Dragon Café on Monday 22nd September.
The Dragon Café will be in person at Magdalen Hall.
11:45am: Doors Open
Come on and join us for light refreshments, hot and cold drinks and healthy snacks available.
12am – 1:45pm: Creative Writing with Wordsmiths
In this fun workshop, attendees are guided through structured writing activities and games to enable them to create and share a mixture of fictional and true stories based on their own experiences.
The group setting allows each person to firstly build confidence by sharing work that they have created from nothing, and secondly to build empathy towards other people in their community by hearing their stories in their words. The goal is to enable a creative way to communicate and to understand thoughts and ideas whilst having fun.
2:30pm – 4:15pm: Seasonal Crafting with Artist and Maker Jonny Dixon.
Join friend of the Dragon Café, Artist Jonny Dixon to celebrate the arrival of autumn by making seasonally themed desktop decorations to try and bring some cheer to the darker, damper months!
2pm: Food served:
This week we will be continuing with the MFC menu. Expect lots of fresh and healthy options, including an assortment of salads, fruit, fresh breads, olives, finger foods, and much more.
4pm – 5pm: Singing Group
In this session, participants are invited to come together in celebration of the positive impact of singing and the voice. This session, facilitated by our singing lead Vivien Ellis, will be an energy filled journey through a mix of singing and vocal styles. From sea shanties to old English chants, choral favourites written by the singing group and some improvised rounds and soundscapes. There is something in this session for everyone.
5:15pm – 6pm: Yoga inspired Stretch with Anja Nikodem
Stretch way some of the stresses and tension we may feel at the start of another week. Put the week ahead out of mind as we stretch our backs, necks and shoulders with Anja Nikodem. This session is designed to stretch those tense muscles, boost energy and reenergise you. Come in your usual clothes. No experience necessary.
