Monday 8th September

We are looking forward to welcoming you to The Dragon Café on Monday 8th September.

The Dragon Café will be in person at The Crypt at St Peters Church.

12am – 1:45pm: Creative Writing with Wordsmiths

In this fun workshop, attendees are guided through structured writing activities and games to enable them to create and share a mixture of fictional and true stories based on their own experiences.

The group setting allows each person to firstly build confidence by sharing work that they have created from nothing, and secondly to build empathy towards other people in their community by hearing their stories in their words. The goal is to enable a creative way to communicate and to understand thoughts and ideas whilst having fun.

2:30pm – 3:15pm: Laughter Yoga with Patricia Byrne

Laughter yoga is amazing stress relief, getting you out of your head and into your body in an incredibly effective way. This workshop is designed to chase away your blues, boost your immune system and increase your resilience.

Sessions are fun & relaxed, combining movement, breathing and laughter exercises.

No downward dogs in this yoga, it's all about having a good laugh and releasing endorphins.

3:30pm – 5pm: Fabric Collage

Fabric collage is a wonderfully creative way to play with colour, pattern and texture using recycled textiles. This workshop is designed to spark your imagination, reduce stress and encourage mindful making.Sessions are relaxed and social, combining simple cutting, arranging and gluing techniques. No sewing skills needed – just come and enjoy creating with fabric scraps.

With the Dragon Café team!

4:45pm – 5:45pm: Singing Group

In this session, participants are invited to come together in celebration of the positive impact of singing and the voice. This session, facilitated by our singing lead Vivien Ellis, will be an energy filled journey through a mix of singing and vocal styles. From sea shanties to old English chants, choral favourites written by the singing group and some improvised rounds and soundscapes. There is something in this session for everyone.
